LCP stands for Liquid Crystal Polymer, a thermoplastic engineering plastic that exhibits nematic liquid crystal properties when melted and belongs to fully aromatic polyester. It has a rigid and unyielding polymer structure and has unique and excellent properties compared to other thermoplastics.
LCP is a high performance thermoplastic yarn that exhibits exceptional strength and rigidity. Pound for pound, LCP is five times stronger than steel and ten times stronger than aluminium. LCP Fiber, almost no creep, 28% LOI, 0.04% moisture absorption, is used frequently in ropes, sails and woven fabrics.
